By participating in this year’s 93rd International Agricultural Fair in Novi Sad, held from May 16th to May 21st, the Future Systems Hub showcased its projects through interactive presentations and activities, roundtable discussions, and technology demonstrations that are shaping the future of agrifood systems. The event attracted around 120,000 visitors, highlighting its significance as one of the key agricultural gatherings in the region and beyond.
At this year’s International Agricultural Fair, the OpenAgri project was promoted to a diverse audience of farmers, researchers, advisors, technology providers, policymakers, and other stakeholders. Through informational materials and direct discussions, the project introduced its vision of advancing open-source digital agriculture and highlighted its ongoing work in developing accessible and interoperable agricultural digital solutions. The fair provided an excellent opportunity to increase the project’s visibility, engage with potential end users, exchange ideas on the digital transformation of agriculture, and establish new connections with stakeholders interested in sustainable and innovative farming practices.
Rich programme attracting visitors from around the world
During the fair, the Future Systems Hub booth showcased around 20 European projects implemented by the association, covering a wide range of engaging and highly relevant topics. Through a diverse programme of daily interactive activities, these themes were presented in an engaging way- from sustainable agriculture, digital innovations, and enhancing plant protein production in Europe, to new smart applications for citizens and biodiversity-friendly farming practices.
Projects first-hand: conversations with FSH staff
Direct communication with FSH staff offered deeper insight into the European projects implemented by the organisation. Special focus was placed on projects providing scientific, financial, educational, and business support to various actors in the sector, including FarmBioNet, RES-WHEAT, STEP UP, Digi4Live, Farmtopia, VALPRO PATH, WiseFood, INCiTiS-Food, OpenAgri, IPMorama, InPlasTwin, PLANTOMYC, SUNFUSION, RefreSCAR, RIA4FOOD, FUELPHORIA, CrackSense and TALLHEDA. Through these projects, Future Systems Hub supports innovation development, strengthens competitiveness, and promotes the scaling of sustainable solutions in agrifood systems.
