AgIoT is a student-built precision agriculture solution designed to address irrigation challenges during natural disasters such as tornadoes. Developed at Purdue and Dongguk universities, the system combines soil moisture sensors, LoRa communication, and a cloud-based control platform using Node-RED and MariaDB. It calculates irrigation priorities using a cost-effective algorithm that considers battery status, distance to water sources, and real-time moisture data. Built on Arduino microcontrollers and serverless cloud functions, it targets low-cost, energy-efficient deployment in emergency contexts.
