SCiO is a technology company established in Athens, Greece, operating globally and providing innovative, world-leading, bespoke services across the entire lifecycle of scientific data management. Its vision is to build solutions integral to the advancement of data-driven, collaborative science that addresses most preeminent global problems related to climate, food, the environment and their effects on human health and well-being. To achieve this, SCiO leverages a broad range of technical and methodological expertise in the area of Big Data Analytics, towards providing services that morph data into meaningful answers.

Since its founding, SCiO has collected multiple and prestigious accolades. It was one of the recipients of the 2020 Elastic Search Awards under the cause category for developing GARDIAN, a data discovery framework built using Elasticsearch. It was also selected as a finalist of the 2020 Syngenta Crop Challenge in Analytics, a competition that sought analytical approaches to improve complex crop breeding processes. Finally, SCiO was the winner of the 2020 GEO-LDN competition organized by United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD), for its LUP4LDN web tool.

Role in the project:

SCiO is leading the development of an AI-powered Decision Support Tool that will guide farmers, advisors, and policymakers in selecting the most fitting Agricultural Digital Solutions for any situation, running the full gamut from cloud-powered analytics to edge-based approaches, and combining them to form comprehensive packages tailored to the specific energy, connectivity and cultivation parameters.
