The P2P Lab is a research collective based in Ioannina, Greece. It is dedicated to research and advocacy around peer-to-peer (P2P) dynamics in technology, society and economy. The P2P Lab encompasses a global community of researchers and activists that advocates and monitors models of peer production and the commons in every field of human activity. Our research network empirically explores and expands the theoretical work produced on commons-oriented practices to ascertain their viability in real-world applications.
The P2P Lab researchers produce academic peer-reviewed publications and coordinate and participate in research projects, focused on open-source technologies and commons-based practices. Our wider network includes institutions and organisations from academia and civil society, grassroots social movements and public and private sector institutions working for the transition to a commons-oriented future. P2P Lab has established and is the leading force of Tzoumakers, one of the very few agrifood-related makerspaces.
Role in the project:
P2P Lab will lead Task 4.2 on community outreach and integration protocols, and will be responsible for the OpenAgri participatory community-driven co-creation approach. Its SSH experts will lead the effort in supporting the creation of user-friendly interfaces and tailored material. Their team is led by Dr Chris Giotitsas, whose research focuses on open-source technologies and agricultural communities.
