EMBIO Diagnostics is a leading biotechnology company headquartered in the Republic of Cyprus, established in 2016 and operating globally. Specializing in cutting-edge biosensor technology, we design and develop custom hardware and software solutions for rapid diagnostics in diverse sectors, including Environmental, Food Safety, and Health.

Our flagship product, B.EL.D™ (Bio Electric Diagnostics), is a versatile portable chemical analyzer system, offering precise control and parallel measurements using biorecognition elements. It serves as a multi-use analyzer for instant testing of pesticides, bacteria, and harmful chemicals in food and water, providing reliable results and cost-effective safety measures for the food and beverage industries.

Additionally, our airbeld™ monitoring system ensures Indoor Air Quality assessment, monitoring temperature, humidity, CO2, VOCs, PM1, 2.5, 4, 10, and NOx, promoting health and well-being in various environments. Leveraging artificial intelligence and machine learning, EMBIO is dedicated to shaping the future of rapid diagnostics globally.

Role in the project:

EMBIO Diagnostics takes the helm in SIP5 of the OpenAgri project, based in Cyprus, leading the cross-sector testing initiative in vegetables, specifically Tomatoes, Cucumbers, and Lettuce. Specializing in low-cost IoT solutions, EMBIO develops an Agricultural Decision Support (ADS) system for monitoring organic compost piles. Leveraging LoRaWAN and LoRA-linked sensors, the system ensures real-time surveillance, optimizing the fermentation process. EMBIO’s expertise in custom hardware solutions proves instrumental in engaging local farmers, advisors, and compost experts. The ADS integrates cloud and edge processing, contributing to reduced manual labor, enhanced energy efficiency, and overall production efficiency.
